FAST FRIDAY FOR FIRSTBORNS
FRIDAY 10TH DECEMBER 2021
THEME: GOODNESS OF GOD
TEXT: PSALM 107:8-9 “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”
Blessings beloved parent-intercessors. Welcome to the second Friday in December 2021. Our GOD is good to us hence we want to thank and appreciate Him for His goodness to us and our children. Our Father’s goodness conveys His generosity to us as His children. He is such a good, good Father and He looks out for opportunities to pour out a blessing upon us and our children. Halleluyah!
Today is a special day. It is a Friday and the 10th day of the month. It is a double-combo day of significance. Fridays are special fasting days dedicated for our firstborns and the 10th day is a special day where we keep vigil with the LORD and our prayer focus is also for our firstborns and because we are in the season of thanksgiving to GOD for bringing us to our 10th year as a ministry and commission, we want to acknowledge GOD’s deep love for us and particularly our children in this journey of our fasts and prayers for our firstborns and by extension our other children every Friday.
Let us meditate on these verses of scripture below even as we thank our good GOD for this attribute that belongs only to Him and which He generously bequeath to us and our children without fail or hoarding.
Psalm 34:8 “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”
Psalm 136:1-3 “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the GOD of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the LORD of lords: His love endures forever.”
Psalm 145:9 “The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
Psalm 31:19-20 “How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of men! You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.”
Psalm 100:5 “For the LORD is good; His loving kindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.”
Psalm 27:13 “Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.”
Psalm 23:6 “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
Today, as we meditate on the scriptures above, let us thank GOD for His unending goodness to us and our children. As we do so, our Father will do much more of extending His goodness to us Amen.
To our duty posts beloved parent-intercessors. May the LORD heed us as we acknowledge and appreciate His goodness to us and our children. Please remember to pray in the spirit as well as in your understanding as you meditate on and pray with today’s scripture. Let us soak ourselves and all that the LORD has committed to us in these life-giving words.
