THURSDAY PRAYER FOR OUR DAUGHTERS
THURSDAY 18TH MARCH 2021
THEME: HELP MY DAUGHTER(S) TO MAKE RIGHT CHOICES ALWAYS O LORD.
TEXT: PROVERBS 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”
A blessed Thursday to us all dear parent-intercessors. I trust our week has progressed great so far. Praying the week ends on a great note for us and our daughters Amen and Amen.
Today, we shall be praying for our daughters that on their journey of life, they will be aided by the Spirit of GOD to make right choices per time and follow through on it. This cuts across every area of life, from how and when to go to a place, how to be attired for the journey, what forms of friendships to maintain, how to be wise with their device and time use as well as behavioural conduct per time and place, we want to pray precision and wisdom to live purposeful, impactful lives over our daughters as so much depends on it.
In Genesis 34, we see the story of the unfortunate incident that the only daughter of Jacob, Dinah, had to go through just because of a wrong choice she made. Knowing her heritage and what GOD expects of the lineage she belongs to, she wasn’t supposed to be close friends or even make friends at all with the daughters of the land of Caanan where her family sojourned, not to talk of she visiting them. That wrong choice cost her her innocence and a qualitative life.
If we look into the life of Ruth however, we see a young woman who by the spirit could discern a right association and connection that she had to hold on to! Ruth’s singular decision to cleave to Naomi eventually opened her to a new life and eventual grafting into the company of the progenitors of our LORD JESUS CHRIST! What a life and destiny-enhancing decision! For the full story of the life of Ruth, go enjoy the four chapters of scripture contained in that book of the bible chronicling her life and exploits.
What shall we say of the daughters of Zelophehad who by the wisdom of GOD, rose up, spoke up and fought for their family’s inheritance by right thereby changing the trajectory and status quo of the subsisting law in their nation, receiving the backing of GOD and the legal validation of the nation’s leadership? They were somehow aided to go after the right choice and that they did with the attendant result being for everyone’s benefit, particularly the female folk. What a choice!
Looking at these different instances and stories, be spurred on to meditate on the scriptures below and pray the attendant prayers for your daughter(s):
Ephesians 5:15-17 says “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the LORD is.”
Pray:
• Father, may my daughter(s) always choose to live life not as unwise but as wise ones, making the most of every opportunity. LORD help my daughter(s) to make right choices always as they go through life in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen and Amen.
• Father, in any way my daughters have taken a wrong turn and made wrong choices, I ask for mercy LORD, redeem the time for them. Correct their errors and set them back on the right trajectory of life.
• Father, may my daughters understand per time, season and situation what Your will is and as they come to understand it, grant them the courage to do it in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.
Romans 12:2 says “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD.”
Pray:
•Father, I pray the spirit of discernment over my daughter. I ask that you give her sound judgement to make sound decisions. Help her to be a skillful judge in every situation that she faces. Open her spiritual eyes so that she can see beyond the physical and superficial dimensions of matters in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.
•Father, cause my daughter’s mind to be renewed. Remove every conformity to the world. Help her to be aptly discerning the good path she should tow and the traps she should avoid in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.
•LORD, as my daughter(insert name) navigates life, help her know and walk in Your perfect will always in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.
This manual above is by no means exhaustive, it is only a guide for us to pray hence we are encouraged to seek the Father’s face for more depth to these prayers.
To our duty posts beloved parent-intercessors. May the Father hear and heed us today. May our daughters begin to make right choices in all ramifications of life and as they do, together, may we all be glad in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen and Amen.
